Program a Timer Module with a Preset Program

In this project, you use the basic light control system you
set up in Project 11-1 to run a timed command program from an X10 timer
controller. For this project, you need access to an X10 mini-timer controller
module (Model 1100X or similar), two plug-in control modules (Model 2000 or
similar), two lamps or other plug-in lights, and a room with at least three
wall outlets.

Program a Timer Module with a Preset Program

In this project, you use the basic light control system you
set up in Project 11-1 to run a timed command program from an X10 timer

similar), two lamps or other plug-in lights, and a room with at least three
wall outlets.

1. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 in Project 11-1 to set up the
control modules and lamps for this project. Set the house and unit codes for
the control modules to A3 and A4 as specified in the instructions.

2. Plug the timer controller into the third outlet in the
room.

3. Move the upper-left selector switch on the controller to
the set clock position, and use the timer arrow buttons to set the time on the
controller clock.

4. On the right side of the controller, set the house code
wheel to A. Set the selector switch left for unit numbers 1–4.

5. Move the upper-left selector switch to set program.

6. Set the time with the time arrow buttons about 15 minutes
ahead of the current time.

 7. Press the 3 unit on button. Press the 4 unit on button.

8. Move the time ahead 1 minute.

9. Press the 3 unit on button and then the dim button.

10. Move the time ahead 1 minute.

11. Press the 4 unit off button and then the brighten
button.

12. Move the time ahead 1 minute.

13. Press the 3 unit off button. Press the 4 unit off
button.

14. Set the upper-left selector switch to run and watch for
the program to execute when the time reaches the preset times you entered for
turning on the lamps
