Providing a User Interface for the Hershey College
Intramural Department

In this project, you continue to work with Marianna Fuentes,
assistant director of the Intramural Department at Hershey College. She has
some concerns about the purchases that coaches have made and asks that you flag
large purchases in the Hershey database. She wants to highlight the large
purchases on-screen and on the written purchases detail report.

In addition, to maintain security and make the Hershey
database easier to use, Marianna does not want the staff to work directly with
the objects in the Navigation pane. Most department employees are not familiar
with Access, and she wants to provide a menu system that includes options users
can choose to open the queries, forms, and reports in the database.

Complete the following:

Marianna wants to display a splash screen when the database
is opened. Create a splash screen that includes the name of the department and
the department logo. (The logo, HC-logo.jpg, is located in the Chapter
6EOCCase 3 folder.) For security, set the splash screen to appear when the
database opens. Include your name and phone number on the splash screen. Figure
6.60 shows what your screen could look like. Specify properties appropriate for
a splash screen. If users close the splash screen, the navigation form should
appear. Do not allow users to access the Navigation pane.
